Where is the "away"?

Once in a blue moon you really need a plastic bag... other than that one time you don't. There are many, many ways to reduce your plastic footprint. And a super easy way is to buy your fresh fruits & vegetables loose at the grocery without putting them in those bags. Because where does it go when we throw it away? Recycling is part of a solution but the first step is REDUCE. Then reuse it. And lastly recycle once you've already reduced & reused.

NPR's "8 Million Tons Of Plastic Clutter Our Seas" is worth giving some thought, I think. Listen here. And a quick video from National Geographic "Are You Eating Plastic For Dinner?" helps us understand a little bit about our impact in layman's terms. I really love the ocean.
