Blue Ridge Mountains, Martinis and Vegan Dinners | Asheville NC

This past weekend we headed south to check out the much talked about quaint little Asheville. Fully expecting we'd be ready to just pack up and move in after our first day. It was a beautiful, friendly place full of bright shops and happy people with an overall positive energy. We skipped back & forth from strong coffees to almond smoothies by day and martinis to cucumber cocktails by night. We winded around the Blue Ridge Parkway to hikes that ended in waterfalls and most importantly, we vintage shopped our little hearts out.

I actually couldn't find so much on the web for good recommendations (due to my terrible web surfing skills coupled with my terrible planning skills) so I'll add my piece to the WWW... below are the places that we checked out based on locals we met and these turned out to be pretty wonderful.

Breakfast @ Sunny Point Cafe
The above pictures of the garden are from Sunny Point Cafe's backyard paradise. Literally farm (garden?) to table. Really awesome.

Cocktails & Wine @ Sovereign Remedies

Dinner @ Plant
This vegan restaurant was insane. Two very enthusiastic thumbs up - if you ever go to Asheville you MUST try.

Smoothies @ Green Sage Cafe

Hike @ Crabtree Falls
An hour north off the BRP is a 3mi hike with a half point at a beautiful waterfall pooling into crystal clear cool refreshing water. Maybe early morning hike would be best... before the teenagers wake up with their selfie sticks.
