Hounds of Love


Houndstooth is somewhat of a design version of a from-rags-to-riches tale. The pattern originated in Scotland in the 1880s as a very un-glamorous wool outer-garment for shepherds. In the beginning of the 20th century, however, the tessellated pattern became a status of wealth, and when the likes of Chanel and Louis Vuitton began heavily incorporating the design into their collections, houndstooth was solidified as a high-fashion staple. This year seems to be its year again and we are very happy about that. It's come a long way from the lowlands...
