Claire's Knee

Le Genou de Claire (Claire's Knee) is a provocative French film from the '70s directed by Éric Rohmer and the fifth film in the director's series, Six Moral Tales. The story centers around Jerome, a soon-to-be-married diplomat on vacation, his close friend Aurora, and the two young step-sisters Aurora is staying with.

It's sort of a Lolita-esque tale of ennui, youth, seduction, manipulation, and love all wrapped up in a beautifully French cinematic package.

The film itself is stunning: teeming with gorgeous light, stunning French mountains, and impeccable style.
